Real quick, here's what I think will happen during the second leg tomorrow:
- The Mexican clubs will advance comfortably.
- The Costa Rican clubs may be pushed to varying degrees in their matches, but will advance in the end.
- MLS will take an early exit from the Champions' Cup, and I expect the teams' lack of experience in high-pressure matches outside the USA to play a significant factor.
Now, if the Revolution and the Galaxy would like to write a new history, that would be great. But under the current CCC format, MLS clubs are a combined 2-7-1 (W-L-D) in away matches in Central America -- and 0-7-0 in Mexico. With those stats, I prefer to bet on form.
