The Trinidad Express is reporting that the national government has agreed to pay close to TT$18 million (approx US$6 million) in salaries to the coaching staff of the senior national team for the period 2006-07. The T&TFF first has to submit a report of the terms and conditions of the coaching contracts in order to receive disbursements from the government. There are further negotiations between the federation and the national government over the development plan for the WC 2010 campaign, which I'm guessing has a substantial government contribution, but for now it looks like a big victory for the T&TFF. The article didn't say anything about any audit, which the Sports Minister was pushing for.

No word yet on whether this agreement clears the way for the Soca Warriors' return to the international stage.
