Harbour View overturned my expectations and defeated Joe Public 2-1 to win the CFU Club Championship last night. In doing so, they qualify for next year's edition of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. Joe Public scored first at the quarter-hour mark, but two goals in three minutes turned the final around and sent Harbour View on their way. They were reduced to ten men for most of the second half and had to withstand furious pressure from the Trinidadian champions who struck the frame twice.
A side note: Joe Public is owned by CONCACAF president (and now T&T MP) Jack Warner. He sure has his fingers in a lot of pies.
Perversely, I'm somewhat encouraged to learn that Jack Warner owns Joe Public -- given they lost.
