Last night, Guatemala's Municipal advanced to the final eight of the 2008 CONCACAF Champions' Cup by defeating Alajuelense 3-1 on aggregate. The Costa Rican side won the second leg 1-0, which would have sent the tie to penalties had the original first leg score been allowed to stand. In the end, Alajuelense have only their "fans" to blame for not advancing to CONCACAF competition.
The final participant in the Champions' Cup will be the winner of Mexico's Apertura tournament (Pumas or Atlante), which concludes this weekend.
