Just hours away
We're just hours away from the start of the Champions League. It's a new era for CONCACAF; can they really pull off this competition? And how different will it really be from the old Champions' Cup?
The website looks nice, and they've completed all of the previews of the 16 teams in the preliminary round (Santos Laguna was included as well, although they appear in the group stage). But there is still no list of corporate sponsors, no idea of what will happen on the match days. Will there be live updates of matches? Will there be prompt summaries (text/audio/video) of completed matches?
I guess I'm in a state of nervous excitement right now. And I'm willing to guess that there's a mixture of curiosity and skepticism throughout the region. What is this Champions League all about, and why should we care? It's up to CONCACAF to provide the answer.
