Costa Rica 7-0 Suriname
El Salvador 5-0 Haiti
Cuba 0-1 USA
Trinidad & Tobago 1-1 Guatemala
Mexico 3-0 Jamaica
Canada 1-2 Honduras
2110: Well, the matchday featured some history, a couple of expected results, a couple of surprise results, and after the sun set, a couple of blowouts. In four days we'll be at it again.
2106: It should be noted that Suriname had an injury to one of their players after they had used up all of their subs, so they played the final 15 minutes with nine players. Costa Rica scored four goals after that.
2104: FINAL Costa Rica 7-0 Suriname
A comprehensive victory against an outmatched and outmanned Suriname side. Just what was needed for a misfiring Costa Rican team.
2103: The match has to be over by now, but I'm not seeing any confirmation of that online.
2100: Anyone expect Costa Rica to make it eight?
2056: GOAL Costa Rica 7-0 Suriname
Now Bryan Ruíz joins in! This is just ridiculous, but it's been ridiculous for 40 minutes now.
2055: GOAL Costa Rica 6-0 Suriname
Alonso Solís scores just three minutes after entering the field.
2052: FINAL El Salvador 5-0 Haiti
El Salvador effortlessly sweeps aside a shell-shocked Haitian side, and take control of second place in Group C.
2046: The two evening matches have seen more goals scored than in the earlier four matches...combined.
2043: GOAL Costa Rica 5-0 Suriname
Not wanting to be outdone, Celso Borges scores - and it's five for Costa Rica!
2042: GOAL El Salvador 5-0 Haiti
It's a Great Flood at Cuscatlán! William Torres Alegría scores El Salvador's fifth.
2038: GOAL Costa Rica 4-0 Suriname
I suppose the dogs are still on the chase. Suriname's not really trying anymore. They defended a free kick very lethargically and Armando Alonso puts in Costa Rica's fourth goal.
2034: Haiti has had a sniff or two at goal, but their shots are not even remotely threatening.
2031: The commentator at Costa Rica's nacion.com says that the pace of the match has slowed down noticeably. Perhaps the ticos are calling off the dogs.
2030: GOAL El Salvador 4-0 Haiti
Torrents of water flowing through those gates as César Larios scores El Salvador's fourth.
2020: GOAL El Salvador 3-0 Haiti
Rodolfo Zelaya completes his hat-trick for El Salvador, and the three points are headed their way for sure.
2017: GOAL Costa Rica 3-0 Suriname
Looks like the floodgates are opening. Froylán Ledezma turns provider to Alejandro Alpízar.
2016: The second half has started in both matches.
1959: Some quick thoughts on today's matches -- bear in mind, I haven't seen video highlights yet:
Cuba-USA: Six points for the USA but...more goals from the front line, please!!
T&T-Guatemala: Second place in Group A is now wide open.
Mexico-Jamaica: Mexico will advance to the Hexagonal, and they should thank Hurricane Gustav.
Canada-Honduras: Another Honduras away win, and one point from two Canadian home games. Say goodbye, Canada.
1954: HALFTIME Costa Rica 2-0 Suriname
Total domination by Costa Rica, and that late dismissal could really open the floodgates in the second half.
1953: Costa Rica close the half with a crescendo, as Walter Centeno's free kick hits the crossbar and Ledezma's rebound shot strikes the post.
1952: RED CARD Suriname
Rinaldo Lipson has been shown his second yellow card, and Suriname are now down to ten men.
1950: HALFTIME El Salvador 2-0 Haiti
El Salvador are two goals up on ten-man Haiti in the Cuscatlán.
1947: GOAL Costa Rica 2-0 Suriname
And now Costa Rica can really exhale. Suriname defender Marlon Felter makes a huge mistake and leaves the goal open for Froylán Ledezma, who scores his second goal of the night.
1943: Oh wowwww, I really spoke too soon. Suriname had a golden chance to get a shock equalizer! A shot from outside the area is saved by González, but he lets it rebound to Surinamese midfielder Vangelino Sastromedjo. Unfortunately for Suriname, he chooses to pass the ball back instead of shoot, and Costa Rica take a collective deep breath.
1942: Well it looks like I spoke too soon, because Suriname managed to win a corner. It's dealt with rather easily by the Costa Rican defense.
1937: Costa Rican 'keeper Ricardo González can go read a book, because Suriname are nowhere close to approaching the penalty area.
1934: GOAL El Salvador 2-0 Haiti
Rodolfo Zelaya his second goal of the match.
1929: In the Costa Rica-Suriname game, Froylán Ledezma was the goalscorer in the 8th minute. Costa Rica has been dominating possession and had already won EIGHT corner kicks before Ledezma's goal.
1927: In the El Salvador-Haiti game, Rodolfo Zelaya scored in the 7th minute. Haiti are down to ten men after Pierre Richard Bruny was shown a red card in the 13th minute.
Typo in Group A standings (in your "where we stand" section), USA has +2 in GD, must have been tired when you did it
