I was going to title this "Darn it, Eric, you just stole my thunder!", but in truth I was too lazy in commenting on the trade when it happened. I'm not surprised that Dwayne De Rosario is going to Toronto FC. Sooner or later, the top Canadian field player in MLS would make his way to Toronto, and the fact that he's from Ontario made this transfer even more likely. He just turned 30 and perhaps the Dynamo management felt that now was the best time to get value for him. Together with Guevara, they can make TFC into a playoff contender, and the Red Patch Boys will love him (as well as the other TFC supporters' clubs).
And yet, it's too bad that De Rosario is leaving Houston Dynamo with the Champions League knockout stage approaching in two months. No one else on the team was as creative as DeRo, and the team looked markedly different when he was on or off the field. I don't see how Dynamo will be able to make an impact in the last eight of CONCACAF's top competition.
As I said earlier, it's too bad.
