As I'm sure everyone knows, the Honduras-USA can only be viewed via closed-circuit TV in the USA. (It can also be listened to on the web through the various radio networks in Honduras -- here's one.) I have my own thoughts about this situation, but what's done is done. What I find incredible is that of the bar/restaurant outlets reported to be showing the game, there is only ONE in the state of Arizona. I guess the Honduran diaspora hasn't made it this far south. I'm stunned that it is possible to watch this match in, to give one example, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, but not Tucson, Arizona, but FWB has a much larger Honduran community than Tucson.
At any rate, for those of you in Arizona, the ONLY place in the state where you will be able to watch the match live is Popusa Loca, on 4320 W. Thomas Road in Phoenix. It's in the Arrowhead Plaza Shopping Center on the corner of N 43rd Street and Thomas Road, about four or five exits west of Sky Harbor. As you tell by the name of the restaurant, the broadcast will be in Spanish.
For those of you in Fort Walton Beach and elsewhere in Northwest Florida, the only spot showing the match will be Billar La Raza on 104A Hollywood Blvd SW. I've never been there but I know the location and it's close to the auto sales/servicing establishments.
South Florida has a lot more locations. For those of you in PBC, there's El Torito Sports Pub on Congress Avenue in Lake Worth, and Toro Loco and Casita Latina in West Palm Beach (both on Military Trail).
The ATL has tons of spots to watch the game. There's a bar in Buckhead showing the English-language broadcast, and up to seven in and out of the Perimeter. I remember going to one bar (Lucky 77s, which I doubt is still around) in the mid-90s to watch the Gold Cup and South American qualifiers where it was the only spot in Atlanta where you could do so - that just tells you how much the Latino population has grown in metro Atlanta.
