With less than 20 hours before kickoff in Montevideo, Costa Rica and Uruguay are just about out of time to make modifications ahead of the decisive second leg. René Simões will be back on the touchline after his suspension in the first leg on Saturday and is looking for "fresh legs" for tomorrow's match. He has been forced to make changes to his lineup because Randall Azofeifa's expulsion and Gil Martínez's injury, and it looks like he will select Cristián Montero if he's fit enough. Junior Díaz appears likely to start as well. Simões told reporters that in his opinion Costa Rica played better than Uruguay in the second half; well, that's debatable, but they were improved over the first half when they came out flat and uninterested from the opening whistle and were knocked off the ball by a physical Uruguayan side. (But how could they not have known that Uruguay are a physical side?) It's no surprise then that Simões is going to work the referee preemptively.
Uruguay, as you might expect, are in a much better mood, and Óscar Tabárez will stick to the same XI that played on Saturday. Their practice consisted mostly of set-piece plays, both offensive and defensive. The public has responded massively to the ticket sales, and only a few high-priced tickets remain. The match will be live on terrestrial TV in Uruguay - which means that at least three or more TV networks will show it with their own commentators.
