Anyone seen my post?

Last Friday I wrote a post titled "The post-qualifier roundup" that was a media roundup of the first-round qualifier matches -- twice in fact, because there was a server error that caused me to lose the contents of the first version.  TypePad told me that the post had been saved, but now it is no longer among the list of posts.  Did anyone see my post?  Needless to say, I'm very irritated with TypePad right now.

Changes to the blogroll

As you can tell, I made some changes to the blogroll last night.  When I started HexagonalBlog I had links related to the countries in the final round of World Cup qualifying.  As the scope of this blog expanded to include CONCACAF events outside of the World Cup, I felt that it was time to include more links from the other member countries.  On the left hand side you can links to those national associations that have official websites (there are still seven that do not).  There are some other links that I'll include in the "Other Blogs" list in the coming days.

From time to time I get requests to add links to this site.  I usually don't add links on request, and I certainly don't if it doesn't have anything to do with (a) soccer, (b) CONCACAF, or (c) MLS/US soccer.

MORE:  Ok, that last sentence didn't come across well...I have added links in the past from people who have asked to be added to one of my blogrolls.  I wrote what I did in response to requests I often get to add links that aren't soccer related, or aren't related to soccer in this region.  So there you go.

Another weblog addition

I decided to update my blogroll with Roberto Gotta's vecchio23 blog.  Roberto Gotta is an Italian journalist who is a columnist on Italian soccer on the ESPN Soccernet website.  He's that rare foreign journalist who is really knowledgeable about American sport and covers it in a serious and non-sneering way.  (To be fair, even fewer American sportswriters are knowledgeable about foreign sport with the probable exceptions of tennis and golf.)

Anyway, it looks like a content-rich blog, and it gives me some motivation to learn Italian again.

Some blogs on the U20 World Cup

There are a few blogs out there devoted to the U20 World Cup, such as Bobby McMahon's blog at FOX Sports and the Off the Post blog at Toronto's National Post.   I'm sure there are more, and if you want to suggest others, you may do so in the comments.

Thank you my readers!

Well I looks like I have a lot more than two readers on this site.  This site set a record for unique visitors in the month of June since I started keeping site statistics - just over 1400 visitors.  Now that figure is paltry compared to other sports-related sites and the major blogs (I believe Oliver Tse's soccerTV.com site gets over 20 million page views a year, and I'm sure that the Instapundit gets at least that much), but I'm pleased that there are some people who look forward to reading my posts and have me listed on their blogrolls and bookmarks.  Whatever the reason for coming here, thank you very much.

Administrativa

As I alluded to in my previous post, I decided that it was past time to update my blogroll.  So a big welcome to Ives Galarcep's Soccer by Ives, Steven Goff's Soccer Insider, and MLS Underground

As the tagline of this blog says, I seek to write about events from the entire CONCACAF region while focusing on MLS and US soccer.  I'm always searching for more soccer-related blogs from the CONCACAF region from countries other than the final six from the Hexagonal.  Information from the smaller Caribbean countries is hard to come by, and most of the blogs from the Central American countries aren't in English.  I'll keep looking and if I find anything interesting I'll place them on the blogroll.

Finally updating the blogroll

Well the Hexagonal is over, so it's time to update the blogroll with some other blogs.  You should find a list below the other country-specific lists on the left hand side.

I plan to reorganize the lists sometime in the future, but I don't know when.  I'll have to make time to do that, because God knows I won't have much free time in the coming months.

HexagonalBlog's now bilingual

After several months of thinking about it and talking about it, I decided to take the plunge and create a Spanish-language version of HexagonalBlog.  It is called, logically enough, HexagonalBlog en Español.  With the World Club Championship and the draw for the World Cup finals coming up, right now seemed like the right time to start it.  It's a work in progress, but I hope to have it set up the way I like it in a couple of days.

Thanks, CNN-SI!

Somedays, I wonder if anyone else reads this blog, but then I read an article like this and realize that quite a few people do.  So welcome those of you who found this website by CNN-SI.  And to my present readers, thank you for your readership.  The site continues to involve, and I don't always have time to update because of work committments, but I try to keep things interesting around here.

Welcome Matchnight readers!

I noticed a huge spike in referrers from Matchnight.com's blogs.  Chuck, was that you?

Anyway, hang around and make yourself comfortable.  I can't say that I blog often, but I try to make it interesting.

Cheers!

UPDATE: And a big welcome to readers from Roundfootballs, too!
